Transcription: The 3.5-meter telescope at Apache Point Observatory recorded this near-infrared image of Jupiter on July 19, 1994. The impact from comet fragments G and D has created this brilliant white spot. This cloud is 14,000 kilometers in diameter. At higher contrast, the core becomes visible inside the large cloud. This bright core is 4,000 kilometers across.
